They are short on ammunition; The Free Army gets weaker and weaker.

There are persistent News that they are about to retreat.

"We plan to keep fighting, to bleed ‘them’ out," said a thick-set, bearded Islamist front-line officer who gave his name as Hosam abu Mohammed.

From the opposition perspective, the fact that rebels have held out this long is a good accomplishment, considering how badly they are outgunned, considering all the arms’ support delivered by Turkey.

Several opposition fighters said that they had been led to believe that they can ‘do it’ in Aleppo, but they’ve been left misguided.

"We would have had an entirely different strategy had we known the weapons we were promised would never arrive," asserted another commander, who gave his name as Abu Omar.

In retrospect, he says, the strategy in Aleppo should have been geared more toward classic tactics, such as hit-and-run attacks, rather than trying to hold and defend territory, in which seems we are not capable to, no for too long.

He added that, we did not expect that; the strength and determination of Syrian Army forces… We are about to collapse, he concluded regretfully.
